Bad at Being Bad

It was not without apprehension that Raphexim approached the creepy floating lady. When he had heard news of her around the castle, he had dismissed her as another voodoo crackpot full of sparkle dust and nothing more. But when he at last beheld her there, it was awe that filled him, not contempt or suspicion. She smiled as he approached, though he had a feeling she had sensed him rather than seen him from beneath her great hood.

"You seek the truth," she murmured as he came before her.

He bowed respectfully. "I have been me for a pitifully short time. I wish only to better know myself."

She smiled again, and something wicked seemed to enter her face as she reached into her sleeve and presented him with a card.

Nobility?

He stared at it with some confusion before understanding spread across his face. With furrowed brow, he hastily stuffed it into his waistcoat, said a terse "Thankee," and took his leave.

The Fortune Teller only smiled knowingly at his retreating back.

Poor Raph doesn't quite know who he is yet. His Somebody was a rather noble person, and Raph hasn't yet been able to differentiate himself. His lingering sense of morality and propriety might be admirable in any normal person - but it has no place in an evil Organization. If he acts with noble intentions, he may go directly against the grain of OI.

Poor guy's got to learn he's evil now and just get on with it!

The crown of course represents his nobility, which he tries to hide in the shadows of his Org hood - but it does have a pesky glow to it that won't easily be snuffed out.

The chains show how that trait is holding him back - and yet, his trying to hide it is also holding him back.
